Rapid City Gets New Location
The staff in Rapid City are excited to serve members through the new office located at 1202 E. St. Francis Street. The new office has great meeting and event space for troops and Service Units to utilize. Additionally, the new location has an expanded Retail Store to better serve members. This year will also be the first year the office will have an
on-site Cookie Cupboard.

Sioux Falls Building Addition
The Southeast District and Headquarters Offices are on the move. Many members of the headquarters team will move into the newly expanded office space and the Southeast District team will relocate within the existing building.
Additionally, the Retail Store is expanding and will offer more merchandise after the remodel in December. The Retail Store will be closed to the public December 16th through December 27th, due to the remodel.
Camp On!
Girl Scouts from across Dakota Horizons laced up their shoes for one-of-a-kind camp experiences this summer. Over 760 girls from North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa participated in 26 camps this past summer.
Girls sharpened their detective skills by taking private eye lessons and learning to decode drawings and solve mysteries at Mystery Camp in Mandan, ND. At Build Your Bliss Camp in Hartford, SD, girls were able to choose their own activities. Girls could try their hand at science experiments, canoeing, archery, candle making and
much more.
Real to Me Resident Camp in Aberdeen, SD, gave girls the opportunity to spend 5 nights away from home and bond with other girls their same age. Girls experienced some favorite shows including Survivor (archery and canoeing), Deadliest Catch (fishing), Iron Chef (cooking), You’ve Got Talent (acting/songs/talent show) and other fun activities.
The 2013 Girl Scout camping season was a great success and we can’t wait until next year! Until we can camp again, check out all the events and program opportunities that are going on in your area.
