Honored guests and Girl Scout supporters filled the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology Surbeck Center Ballroom for a chance to honor women who inspire girls to lead. At the 19th annual Women of Distinction breakfast 16 nominees were recognized for their leadership and support of Girl Scouts—Dakota Horizons. Helen Duhamel emceed the event, highlighting each nominee. Guests showed support for Girl Scouts by purchasing special Daisy seeds in honor of those people in their lives who inspire girls to lead. Nothing could keep the Sioux Falls area guests from attending Purses With A Purpose, not even one postponement and six inches of ice and snow. Over half of attendees were able to brave the elements successfully and enjoy an evening of wine, appetizers and auctions. Even with the wintery setbacks, Girl Scout supporters in attendance helped raise proceeds in excess of the financial goal! Check for 2014 event details at gsdakotahorizons.org/sfpwp. Loyal Girl Scout supporters filled the banquet room for the 2013 Purses With A Purpose event. The live auction was a great source of entertainment and guests generously participated in the fun. Since the event is steadily growing in popularity, guests will now attend at the spacious Ramada in Grand Forks to mingle, taste wine and enjoy an all-new plated dinner.
