PRIDE Poem by Bonnie Lockhart 7 generations ago my grandma was thinking of me she knew I’d be born someday if she just believed she gathered and wove baskets she sang and she prayed her prayers became visions her prayers became brave her prayers traveled on the river and grew on the trees cus 7 generations from then I was born to be free and it’s my honor to honor her by praying for the next 7 generations so they may draw strength from our story and pass down resilience may my prayers be woven may my prayers be alive may I live knowing they will be born with PRIDE SPR IN G 2 016 ▼ 5
