Well connected
For this renovation with a French country flavour, design professional
Yellowfox has created a refined, welcoming interior
Above and facing page top: This
Yellowfox design connects elements
through the home. For example, a
pendant light in the kitchen links
to another in the entry, and warm,
natural tones feature throughout.
Facing page lower: The master bedroom has a wallpaper accent wall as
well as a studded velvet headboard
and customised co-ordinated bed-end
ottomans by Lisa Marcellus from the
Furnishing Room. The powder room
has a character floral wallpaper.
A lifestyle home comes with its own design
agenda, not least an easy indoor-outdoor flow.
This renovation is an excellent case in point.
The owners asked Yellowfox designer Vikki
Gorton to bring a French country accent to the
theme. And as it’s on an idyllic lifestyle block,
with elegant grounds and gardens, the theme
needed to connect through to the outdoors.
Natural-look vinyl planking floors run
through the home’s entrance, kitchen and dining
spaces, while rich, dark-hued wool carpet brings
warmth to the living area and bedrooms. Most
interior walls are in restful whites and creams.

The kitchen is a mix of Italian veneer and
gloss cabinetry with an engineered stone bench.
Introducing shutters to all windows further
enhances the French country theme and gently
controls the light through the interior.
