Making a Magazine
I
t most definitely takes a village to produce a
magazine. At Naturally Kiawah we are fortunate
to have contributors who have the incredible
talent and energy to develop articles that not only
support the Conservancy’s mission but are interesting and
informative as well. Our writers, artists and photographers
have what it takes to create an award winning publication.
Working with them and supporting them in every way is
a hard working office staff and a diverse board of trustees.
We are also fortunate to have the assistance of the Kiawah
Island Golf Resort, The Town of Kiawah Island and the
Kiawah Island Community Association. NK
Jack Kotz chairs the Conservancy’s Environmental Science
Committee and is a devoted
“alligator guy.”His articles
make science understandable
and his extraordinary photos
bring it to life.
Jane Iwan is a doubly talented
contributor. Her beautiful
paintings have illustrated
our articles, and her writing
captures the magic of our
natural habitat.
Paul Roberts has held every
possible leadership position on
Kiawah Island. He is our “go
to” birdperson, always ready
to write and guaranteed to
produce great photos.
Frances Boyd is a former
teacher and school principal
who also taught teachers at
the College of Charleston. She
is a frequent contributor and
versatile wrtiter.
Tina Schell, our Associate
Editor, is a woman of many
talents. She edits, writes, and
brings the best photography
every single month.
