The Cigar
Looking into the alien and UFO claims, we would like to bring you a brief summary of a few of the most common and current descriptions of space crafts. While sightings of different types of crafts have been suspected going back to 329 BC, we are only highlighting a handful of different shapes that may interest you.
Well-known shapes of UFOs are what are commonly known as the flying saucer. Typical reports and images of this UFO show that it is a silver, gray or metallic circle-shaped object that sometimes has a dome. Flying saucers have been known to hover and also rapidly move through the air. Most sightings are of a single saucer being reported but there have been many reports of flying in groups using an organized formation. The flying saucer UFO got its name after a well-documented, and publicized, sighting by Kenneth Arnold in 1947. Mr. Arnold described what he saw as moving "like saucers skipping on water." This statement coined the phrase.

The first reported sightings of cigar-shaped UFOs were in the mid-1970's. Reports continue today, but are much less common than the traditional saucer type. One of the most reliable reports was from 2003. Captain Irving Pena Vidal of the Merida area of the Yucatan reports that he and the group he works with (Latin American Spatial Research Group) were watching the night sky from his ranch with telescopes. Captain Pena and the group were able to see a cigar- shaped craft releasing several smaller spheroid crafts. Captain Pena believes that this is indicative of the cigar- shaped craft being a “mother ship." There have been several others of the same type reports from this area of the Yucatan.
Are cigar- shaped crafts “mother ships?” Do they carry other ships into our atmosphere to release them for reconnaissance or other missions? As we have no proof that extraterrestrial ships even actually exist at this point, it is hard to say. However with the abundance of reports, it is definitely something to be considered.
Similar shaped items have been located in petroglyphs, hieroglyphs, paintings and tapestries dating back over 7,000 years. These depictions range in location from Iraq to Egypt to France and the Americas. One of the most well-known items showing these circular crafts in the air dates back to 1538. A tapestry, known as 'Summer's Triumph,’ currently held at Bayerisches National Museum, appears to depict at least 4 saucer shaped items in the sky over the citizens in the village. Detailed reports and images still come in on a regular basis from all around the world describing a UFO of this shape.
One of the less common shaped UFOs that have been reported is the cigar shape. As the name suggests, it looks like a rolled up-cigar. They are solid and metallic, sometimes with windows down the side. Some compare it to an airplane
