that are beyond peoples control but I think the priority should be finding a loving new home not trying to get their money back or worse make a profit !
I feel strongly that dog meat restaurants should be banned not because I am against people eating dog even though it ’ s not something I would do . They aren ’ t farming them they are stealing people ’ s family members and treating them to a horrible death I can ’ t abide by that . These restaurants don ’ t add anything to the community instead it takes the lives of their brothers , fathers and uncles on both sides of the trade leaving the community far worse off . I would love to see the government start to enlist laws that are enforceable and workable to have these place shut down .
What advice can I give about dogs in Vietnam ?
Adopt don ’ t shop ! There are very few ethical breeders here and the pet shops are some the worse run places I have ever seen . A large proportion of the animals they sell are already sick with diseases like Parvovirus and die not long after being taken home . This is a heartbreaking cycle of animal abuse , break the cycle and look to adoption from properly run charities and Vets .
Keep your dogs inside at night this will protect them from thieves and being poisoned . My dogs are part of my family and I protect them like I would any other member of my family . I hope other people will do the same . I know some of my Vietnamese friends judge me poorly for treating my dogs like family but to me they are . They bring me joy , they have saved me from lonely days and they helped mend my heart when my father passed away . Isn ’ t that what family is about ?
