Resources & Facililties K9 Cambodia operates the only Western standard kennel facility in Cambodia. Each dog in training has its own separate ventilated kennel run with overhead protection and elevated bed area. All kennel runs have tile / cement flooring and walls which facilitates proper sanitation. All waste is removed from the kennel runs via drainage systems and water bowls are refreshed every 2 hours by qualified kennel assistants. Visual checks are also performed during the 2 hour water checks to ensure proper health and behavior of the dog. During the Obedience Phase of Training your dog will be exposed to leather collar, choke chain (used correctly), leashes of varying length, muzzles, and toy/kongs. Also during the Obedience Phase your dog will negotiate the obstacle course for agility and confidence. The Obstacle course contains hurdles, cat-walk, tunnel, and A-frame obstacles. During the Protection Training Phase K9 Cambodia employs approved aggression dog equipment supplied by Ray Allen K9 Supply (USA). All equipment has been designed with the safety of not only the Handler but the dog being trained. While in training all dogs will be evaluated by a qualified Veterinarian on a regular basis with mandatory checks. The veterinarian will dictate food type and amount for every dog assigned to K9 Cambodia to ensure proper health and welfare. influenced by the expectation of reward, the behavior will most likely be repeated, and when those choices are influenced by the anticipation of punishment, they will most likely cease. Once the dog has learned that its choices result in comfort or discomfort it can be taught to make the correct decisions. Examples of unacceptable punishers not employed by K9 Cambodia include shocking, choking, pinning a dog down, kicking, slapping or anything that hurts or causes fear. Unacceptable reinforces include releasing a choke on a chain when the dog complies, stopping a shock current when the dog returns.
