Parents ’ Association Guidelines is a recent NPCpp publication and is available through Compass Parents . This is a comprehensive 40 page booklet that is useful for all Parent Associations .

Grant Aid for Post Primary Pupil ? - You could qualify .
• You may be eligible for a grant if your child is attending or plans to attend a Protestant managed Post Primary School participating in the ‘ block grant ’ scheme .
• The purpose of the scheme is to assist necessitous children of the Protestant community in accessing second level education in a school that accords with their religious ethos .
• Grants are funded by the D . E . S . and applications are means tested .
• Grant Assistance available may cover up to 50 % of the fees in Dublin schools and about 90 % in some of the country schools .
• Application Forms are available directly from the school of your choice .
• Closing date for applications is usually 28 th February for the school year commencing August that year .

Home Tuition Grant Scheme for maternity related absences .

This circular provides information in relation to the Home Tuition Grant Scheme for maternity related absences . This Home Tuition Scheme provides funding for compensatory educational tuition for girls who are unable to attend school due to pregnancy .
As with all other Home Tuition schemes provided by this Department , tuition providers must be currently registered with the Teaching Council and have been vetted by the teaching council since 29 th April 2016 . The scheme provides for a maximum of 90 hours tuition , to take place within 6 months from the date of sanction .

Compass is the statutory body representing the Parents of Minority Religion schools at national level . Working through the NPCpp - National Parents Council ( Post Primary ) – and directly linking to the Government and Department of Education and Skills – Compass is Your Voice in Education .
The Compass executive seek to represent the views and concerns of all parents at our constituent schools . Communications are best routed through the Compass Representative from your Parents Association at school who can raise matters with the Compass executive . We will endeavour to deal with and respond to all communications in a timely and satisfactory manner .
All post-primary schools are now legally required to have a Parents Association . Should your PA be newly formed or need assistance , we are here to help you .
