This is a three day trip which now takes place annually in October before the Mid-Term break . All schools affiliated to Compass are notified and can send students to participate . In the first year 14 schools sent students , and since then there has been an average of 12 schools participating each year . To quote from the Programme Overview : “ Being a group of individuals from different schools , who may not know each other well , the emphasis at the beginning will be on identities and socialising . We explore the positive and negative aspects of conflict and diversity , the causes and effects of conflict , our responses to conflict and peaceful transformation . We look at leadership and how people can be empowered to make a difference and promote justice and equality locally and globally .” presentations : to have the chance to network with parents from other schools ; and to share ideas and issues of concern . The Interactive Meetings take place in schools over the country , enabling as many parents as possible to attend .

The role of the parent as the prime partner in Education is now recognised without question .
