RESIDENCE
WaterWorks Barrhead
Since Summer 2016 James Gow has been artist in residence at the
Waterworks, Barrhead; winner of ‘Best Environment Project’ in the
National Lottery Awards 2016. During his residency, James has
engaged hundreds of members of the local community and general
public in creating lasting and transitional art work on the site.
James has developed specific projects in partnership with primary
and secondary schools across East Renfrewshire, supporting the
curriculum whilst creating a legacy of artwork for the site that
reflects the evolving natural habit. Specific seasonal art activities
have included an eco-art camp during the summer holidays, willowweaving, pumpkin harvesting and carving. To keep up to date with
