And his military ties have helped jump-start his first nongovernmental venture. His first Dickey’s, in Pensacola, is one of three planned restaurants that will cater to current and former military members in the Florida Panhandle, home to Naval Air Station Pensacola and Eglin Air Force Base in nearby Fort Walton Beach.
