Congrats, Everest!
After working with CASY for three months, Everest was hired at GAP Solutions, Inc.
Hiring Challenge: Trying to find a job after 20 plus years in the military and putting together a resume in civilian terms was hard. Trying to do something new after so long and also going from military life to the civilian world is very scary.
Assistance Received: I was very happy to receive assistance from CASY. They were very helpful in putting my resume together and helping me with classes that I needed to become familiar with the civilian job market. They were also a great help in preparing me for my interviews.
Results: The result was that I was able to feel more confident in my ability to find a good job. I was able to put together a good resume and an elevator speech that I felt good with. Once I was able to get everything in order, then I was prepared, and I got a couple of interviews and was able to land a job.
Value of Experience: I’m glad there are groups like CASY out there that can help vets like me feel more confident about getting into the civilian job force. Sometimes, you just need that right person or push to get you going in the right direction.
