“Our returning troops and their family members can offer an extraordinary combination of leadership, dedication and technical expertise in today’s civilian workplace. The information and advice contained in this book is designed to prepare our service members to successfully make the transition from active-duty service to a meaningful job here at home.”

First Lieutenant, U.S. Marine Corps, 1969-1971

Challenge:

As a military spouse, I wanted to find remote work that I could take with me, but I also wanted to use my education, including my Masters of Education. Few work- from-home opportunities exist for individuals with advanced degrees. Not wanting to settle for a job just to have a job, I wanted a role that would allow me to put my education and experience to use.

Assistance Provided:

MSCCN provided me with job lead notifications, and they reviewed my resume, which was extremely helpful. As a result, I made the decision to alter my resume for each job submission I made rather than sending out one generic version. This targeted approach was smarter and helped employers see how I fit their needs.

MSCCN’s services are wonderful for military spouses. Our busy lives make it difficult to find opportunities, and we often need assistance writing resumes. Military spouses are a unique group of job seekers. MSCCN provides personalized assistance to help spouses highlight what we can offer as employees.

Results:

MSCCN helped me to find the online employment I wanted. After working with MSCCN for a few months, Everett University Online and Southern New Hampshire University hired me!

Congratulations, Kelly!
