Special Features OK this is a motorcycle tent made to have your motorcycle INSIDE your tent. You don’t have to and I will go into that a little more later on. But the question is can you fit a motorcycle inside the tent as advertised? Yes you can is the answer as I got a KTM 1290 in there with room to spare for panniers. You can do this by either taking your bike inside or erecting the tent over the bike, both ways worked just fine. The other question I had... would I want to sleep next to my bike? Laying there thinking is that 280kg bike going to fall on my head does not give ride to a peaceful nights sleep at first. The main thing I thought about is what if you had just a sidestand and the ground got wet and it sinks. Well, being logical you would always have the bike sidestand away from where you sleep so if it did fall over then it falls away from you. I’ve been to so many rally events that I’ve lost count and never has my bike fallen over! Whipping winds in the Highlands of Scotland where poles have shattered around me but come the morning, my bike was stood there just fine... of course I was not sleeping right next to it at the time so IF it fell then no harm for me. You could also plank brace the bike on your sleeping side or even rope peg the bike down away from you as you would on a Ferry if you are going to fret over this or just park the bike outside when you sleep. Reason being it’s horses for courses really and if you’re at a rally then no one is going to screw with your bike (you would hope) but some drunken arse may fall on your tent and by reason of your bike being in your tent, fall on your bike. A smaller dirt bike would not be an issue at all as you can park that on a slant and it would not hit you even if it did fall over. I liked the idea of being in the middle of nowhere and having the ability to park a bike in the tent and go for a wander without the bike being visible. There is also the fact that this section of the tent has far more use (to me) as a working area and for storing kit, working on the bike in the rain or just an eating, cooking and chilling area for shade or shelter. It’s superb and such a great feature to have as it becomes a social focal point at a rally too. It’s pissing down and you and some mates just sit in your ‘garage’ section, break out the JD and open the pack of cards... job done. It also works brilliantly as a changing room, as you can stand up fully to get dressed up and down from base to riding gear is a God send.
