Sean Nordsell : That ' s an excellent question ! I would never turn down a role based on political beliefs . However , I do not compromise my principles when it comes to my faith . I refuse to take the name of the Lord in vain . I have played many roles , one time , I even played the devil .
" I will do whatever the script calls for except take the name of the Lord in vain ". One time I was at an audition and as I was reading for the part the casting director stopped me and insisted that I would be great for a different role " a supporting character I believe ". She handed me the new script and as I was reading aloud , it came to a part where the character took the name of the Lord in vain . I didn ' t really realize it until after I said it " I hadn ' t said it since I was a child ". I became flustered and completely ruined the audition . Needless to say , I did not get the part . Since then , whenever I am reading a script that calls for it , I ask them to change the verbiage . " Even though it is unprofessional to do that because it stifles the creativity of the writer and changes the script " this is something I will not bend on . If they will not change the script " I don ' t care how big the paycheck is " I will walk away from the part .
MORE Mag : Many hearts for that ! Tell me , what is , or was your dream role ?
Sean Nordsell : That is another great question . Like I said before , I have played a lot of roles but the funny thing is " a lot of them are very hard to find ". There have been several dozen roles that I have not been credited for . I often tell people " my resume is long , but you won ' t find it online ".
In many ways I wanted to be an un-googleable actor " because I do it for the love of the art ", but I also realize that that casting directors occasionally look you up to see your previous work . So sometimes I will ask for a credit , just for a little internet presence . Also , I sometimes post projects on social media to keep people up to date on things . You have to walk a fine line between promoting yourself and looking egotistical .
