I know this is not so much of what the article is to be about , but it will help to bring back the importance of the cost of healthcare . Healthcare being an individual responsibility and necessity to good health and long life .
An individual is taken for their first check up at birth . Ten fingers , ten toes , good heart , brain activity normal and muscles reacting with the nervous system through varying tests as it should . We are tested at birth . We are then given a series of times to come in for follow up appointments over the next few weeks and months of this new life to be sure we are growing per a scale set up to monitor these development stages . Everyone is afforded this opportunity at birth to get them started on the right path . Then through the childhood , pre-school visits , pubescent checks , middle school assessments , and junior and high school matriculation this is a continued check of growth and development . After these great starts , whether through paid or free healthcare it is
the beginning of the healthcare process .
Over time comes the questioning of the necessity of certain tests , prescribed medications and treatments . The abuse of prescription medications start early . People begin to understand the effects of medications to helping them forget the feeling of where they are , and what they must deal with in life . They start to question the necessity of seeing Doctors , the time it takes , and the cost . Life becomes too busy to stop and check out that itch , pain , growth , lump or discoloration . Now the responsibility has been handed over to the grown up us . The responsibility to handle our bodies the same way we entrusted our Physicians to get us through the growing and developing years . There is a side effect not just to medications but the lack of medical care . What would have been a visit with a $ 20 copay has now become a series of appointments with larger bills and climbing debt . People are making choices of eating , having lights and lodging or getting prescribed medications .
