THE LARGEST PUBLIC FERTILITY CENTRE IN QUEBEC MOVES FROM THE OLD ROYAL VICTORIA HOSPITAL TO A MORE MODERN AND ACCESSIBLE FACILITY

Bien des gens ne se posent pas de questions quand vient le temps de fonder une famille , mais pour certains , le processus de conception n ’ est pas aussi rapide ou aussi simple qu ’ ils l ’ auraient souhaité ou planifié . Depuis 1996 , le Centre de la reproduction du Centre universitaire de santé McGill ( CUSM ), qui est à la fine pointe de la technologie reproductive et le plus grand centre de fertilité public au Québec , aide des patients qui ont des problèmes de fertilité à réaliser leur rêve de devenir parents .
Depuis sa création , le Centre se trouve au Pavillon des femmes de l ’ ancien Hôpital Royal Victoria ( HRV ). Il est demeuré dans l ’ établissement d ’ origine après l ’ installation de l ’ HRV au site Glen en avril 2015 , car c ’ était l ’ un des quelques services cliniques dont le déménagement était prévu pour plus tard . Après avoir étudié plusieurs possibilités , il a été entendu plus tôt cette année de déménager le service au centre commercial Place Dupuis , dans des locaux utilisés auparavant par la clinique de FIV du Centre hospitalier de l ’ Université de Montréal ( CHUM ). g
The process of starting a family is one that many people take for granted but for some , conceiving a child may not go as quickly or as well as they hoped or planned . The McGill University Health Centre ( MUHC ) Reproductive Centre , which is at the forefront of reproductive technology and is the largest public fertility centre in Quebec , has been helping patients with fertility issues since 1996 to fulfill their dreams of becoming parents .
Since its inception , the Centre has been located in the Women ’ s Pavilion of the old Royal Victoria Hospital ( RVH ). It stayed at the legacy site following the RVH ’ s move to the Glen in April 2015 as one of the few clinical services that were slated to move later on . After several options for relocating the Centre were examined , a decision was made earlier this year to relocate the service to the Place Dupuis shopping centre in a space previously used by the Centre hospitalier de l ’ Université de Montréal ( CHUM ) for their IVF clinic . g
