Welcome to Monticello , Minnesota - a growing community situated along the Mississippi River , Interstate 94 , and State Highway 25 with offerings and benefits that range from the economy and business to the fun and recreation .
Monticello is a community rich in history and characteristics that range from cutting-edge businesses in the area industrial parks , a robust community arts program , a historic downtown and retail that makes Monticello a hub for shopping . The community ’ s future is bright .
Monticello ’ s population is nearing 15,000 is one of the largest cities in Wright County . Geographically , Monticello is about 40 miles from Minneapolis- just far enough away from the dense city to maintain its charm .

Monticello is home to the Monticello Community Center , which features events for your entire family including a fitness center , pool and water slide , gymnasium , climbing wall , and the newly refurbished Romp and Stomp indoor play area . In
Monticello there is also the River City Extreme bowling alley and arcade , the Emagine multi-screen movie theater and summer concerts along the Mississippi River . There is open skating at Moose-Sherritt Ice Arena .
Each July there is the RiverFest community festival that includes a traditional parade , fireworks display , arts and crafts fair , a live concert , and large community festival and car show .
Nature lovers enjoy being nearby Lake Maria State Park , Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park and Montisippi County Park . Monticello boats its Ellison Park , West Bridge Park , and East Bridge Park- each along the Mississippi River .
Princeton residents are protected by the dedicated deputies of the Wright County Sheriff ’ s Office and the Monticello Fire Department . Along with sound public safety , are top-notch schools , an accessible government , and inviting church communities of all denominations .
