Walk ‘ N Roll connects Monticello

Walk ‘ N Roll is a chance for all residents to enjoy Monticello ’ s outdoors . In 2022 , the annual June event moved to Walnut Street in the heart of Monticello . It ’ s fun draws huge crowds from Monticello and surrounding communities .
The annual Walk ‘ N Roll Community Pathway Celebration allows citizens to join hundreds of people walking , biking or skating the pathways of Monticello , while stopping at up to 70 booths to play games and learn about local businesses .
Walk ‘ N Roll came together as a grassroots effort to essentially revitalize Monticello . An extremely active coalition of citizens formed different committees that focused on making
Monticello a better place to live and work . Residents wanted to make a commitment to health , and pushed for pathway development . That effort started a chain of events that led to a community survey in August 1992 which revealed a strong interest in constructing more trails . Their preference was to see paths for walking and biking .
Walk ‘ N Roll also offers a chance for all residents to enjoy Monticello ’ s beautiful parks and trail system . The event is sponsored by the City of Monticello with major help from local businesses , which donate giveaways to the day - including bikes . “ Pathway Partners ” reserve a site along the Walk ‘ N Roll pathway route , and promote their group to the entire community .
