Save Money, Buy Generic Brands

Buying generic is a simple way to save money

Many times, the generic label or a store brand label is the very same product that would get a name brand label.

These generic label products are bought at a volume discount by the company and that savings is passed on to the consumer. This can be especially useful when buying medicine because the savings can be substantial. Make sure to look at the active ingredients though, for a direct comparison.

You can easily save 15-50% on store brand and generic products, depending on the product. Opt for these products and watch your grocery and household items savings increase!

go perfectly with our next-day meal plan:

Enchiladas! The ingredients that are used to make the stuffed peppers are ALL items that can be used for enchiladas. Now, all you have to do is heat these items up, add some enchilada

sauce (about 1/3 of the can) and shredded cheese for the filling.

ENCHILADAS

leftover stuffed peppers, chopped

1/2 lb ground beef (reserved from previous meal prep)

New items: 1 can mild, red enchilada sauce, 5 flour tortillas, shredded cheese, sour cream

Spoon filling into flour tortilla shells. Roll up and place in baking dish (sprayed with a non-stick spray). Once all enchiladas are filled and placed in baking dish, pour remaining red sauce over the top. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. This is a quick, easy, inexpensive meal; and the best part is you will never know that you are eating leftovers!

Both money savvy meals cost only approximately $15 to make. To feed a family of four, for two meals, that is less than $2 per person, per meal.
