Once you’ve got those housekeeping tasks taken care of - congratulations! You are ready to start doing adult things now. Graduation itself is exciting, but the anticipation of post-college life might be a bit worrisome. Transitioning from college to llife after college can be stressful, so here are some tips to make it a little more manageable:

• Update your resume and emphasize the different skills you’ve learned while in school and how they can be applied to a job. You’ll have to compete with other people who may have more job experience than you, so you’ll want a competitive edge.

• Start budgeting! With a full-time job and a salary you need to actively manage your money to ensure your financial goals are met and bills are paid. Budgeting lets you control the money.

• Start an emergency fund. Life is full of unexpected events. More than likely, these unexpected events will also be expensive. Having an emergency fund with 3-6 months of expenses will save you a lot of stress when life pushes you around.

• Don’t forget about your UNT resources! As an alumni, all UNT student services like the Student Money Management Center and the Career Center are here to help you when you leave campus as successful graduates.

• Have a great life!
