outfits with certain rugs or spots in the shop where I thought they would fit. The gas station set though, that was entirely by chance. We came back in 97. I was born in the Philippines and my family decided to move to Canada to raise a family. We lived in Scarborough for a bit before we moved out to Whitby. Yes -- incredibly, they both have a different aesthetic, but you can tell it’s shot by the same set of hands. What’s next for you in the photography/ videography world? What types of things are you looking to shoot next? Did you get a chance to play around with your artistic side back home? Nah, I was 4 at the time haha I’m not quite sure yet haha. I’m always looking at trying new ideas and collaborating with more talent. My biggest goal right now is being able to tell a story with with my work. And I think video is an amazing medium to do that with. haha! You started photography pretty recently though, yeah? And already the sets I’ve seen are really impressive, super creative. I think so -- you’re shooting video with your Sony as well? Kindof, my mom and dad got me into it at a very young age. I used to run around with a Nikon film camera and take pics of everything But yes it wasn’t until just over a year ago that I really started taking it more seriously and start collaborating with people Yes! I also recently got a gimbal to help with shots on the move. It’s an amazing video camera. It’s really cool to see people cross over from one medium to the next. Both have such capacities to tell stories; though editing on one is a little more time-consuming. I don’t want to take up too much more of your time, but thank you so much for having your work with us; I look forward to seeing many more of your collaborations. Your style is so incredible a year in; I can’t imagine how awesome it will be come year 2. That’s so awesome. What gear are you rocking now? I always carry my Sony A7 with a Nikon 50mm f1.4. Most of my work is shot with natural or available light and this setup lets me do that Yes! I found myself reducing the amount of things I’m using for shoots more and more. It’s nice to have control, but sometimes it’s necessary to give it up to push your boundaries. When you go into a shoot like you did with Jessica, do you have an idea of what to expect? or do you just play by ear and go with the flow? I should specify.. in the Rug store! You’re featured in two sets with two Jess’ this month! haha For sure haha! And thank you for featuring some of the work my teams and I have created. I’m very excited for what’s coming up next.
