CITIES
In the last few years , we have found ourselves doing as much or more in the area of city-impact as with congregational ministry .
STATE-REGIONAL-NATIONAL IMPACT
In early January , 2016 , leaders from the nation gathered for prayer . And then , leaders from Georgia gathered to consider what might happen if a state dedicated itself to prayerful collaboration . More than a hundred key leaders from across Georgia gathered for this prayer and city-impact collaboration . PROJECT PRAY was key sponsor of the event .
January 25-27 , Doug participated in the Denominational Prayer Leaders Network gathering in Orlando , FL and
the National Prayer Committee annual meeting . Doug serves as a member of the leadership team of the DPLN , a collage of prayer leaders who represent more than 100,000 congregations in the USA .
In March , it was my privilege to speak at Founder ’ s Week , Holmes Bible College , in Greenville , SC . The historic school , the oldest continuing Pentecostal college in the world , has made a remarkable come-back in the past few years under the leadership of Dr . James Leggett . Bishop Leggett most recently served the IPHC as its international director . It has been my privilege to serve on the board of directors for this institution in these remarkable days of blessing . Barbara Small is an alumnus of Holmes Bible College .
March 7-9 , Doug spoke to the leadership team of the International Foursquare Church . A special thanks to Dr . Glenn Burris for the invitation . Quite an honor .
March also included two-days in Jackson , Mississippi where Doug joined the One-Cry / Life Action Ministries group to challenge pastors and business leaders to touch , not only their city , but their state . Dozens of pastors and several hundred business leaders came to these events . There is a ‘ stirring ’ of God , Doug noted , across Mississippi .
In April , Doug met throughout the day , in a one-day intensive with leaders in Chillicothe , OH . A prayer rally concluded the day . Earlier , pastors met for a briefing on cityimpact , and later , community leaders met for a luncheon . This city is one of many where unity and prayer are creating connection points across denominational lines , and leaders are searching for answers regarding their next steps . Thanks to Shaun Howard for the invitation .
In April , at the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove , Doug was one of the key-note speakers at the national Advent Churches conference . A special thanks to the denominational prayer coordinator for the invitation , Dr . Sam Warren .
In May , at the Watchmen on the Wall conference in Washington , DC , Doug challenged pastors across the nation with regard to intensity and passion in prayer ! Thanks to Tony Perkins and Pierre Bynum for their invitation , five years in a row to this powerful conference .
