In October , Doug was back in Africa for a 14-nation conference hosted in Togo , West Africa . This conference was multi-faceted . For two days , leaders from the city of Lome ’ gathered , including two ministerial associations , pastors and intercessors , to consider revival in their churches and in their nation – a nation called by God to impact a continent . For three days , leaders from nations gathered to consider strategies to impact their nations throughout Western Africa . On Saturday , youth from across the city gathered for a day of prayer , vision and training . Then , on Sunday , multiple congregations came together for worship and prayer . Thanks to Bishop Koami ( Timothy ) Afelete Gbo and Regional Overseer David Mills for arranging this effort . o

IMMINENT DOMAIN
Last year , we reported to you that our office was in an imminent domain corridor . The state of North Carolina seized half our property . Loosing half our lot in the back and an easement in the front , but leaving the structure , they asserted that we were unaffected by the taking . This means no opportunity for expansion in this location .
We went through the arbitration process without coming to an agreement . The state chose to play a rather ‘ hard-ball ’ game with us , offering us only a little more than we had been offered in the initial negotiations , before we had declined their earlier settlement . They offered us the net amount of the original offer , and then threatened to withdraw it . The
intimidation is , I suppose , to force us to settle . Needing to avoid court costs , we chose to settle for about 60 % of what we felt was fair . It is a major distraction from ministry .
Now , we are uncertain with regard to our future home . Office facilities in our area are expensive and are not in abundance . As we have waited for a settlement , during this drawn-out process , a number of facilities that we felt might be within our reach have sold . We are in the classic rock-anda-hard-place position , needing to settle , sell our building ( in a railway and road construction zone ), and access the cash of the settlement before we can relocate .
We have found peace , in trusting God who knows all things . Our desire is not to cast aspersions on the state or its personnel . Sadly , at least in North Carolina , the imminent domain process is broken .
Pray for an open door , for God ’ s will . Pray that God will give us wisdom regarding relocating ! Pray for direction , protection from the wrong decision . Pray for provision and favor . o
