The proximity of a modern palette intriguingly extended over the painting’s
frame creates a captivating concept. Designers
Young & Battaglia playfully blur the
boundaries between the frame and the artwork
by superimposing fragments of colour over
a traditional neoclassical portrait and frame,
both of which are digitally printed on to the
canvas itself. The paintings subject, Rosalba,
is re-imagined for the 21st Century, refracted
through prismatic schemes to bring her beauty
alive again.
Winter’s Morning refracts sombre tones to
bring a hint of mystery to the piece.
Rays Of Spring refracts light tones to bring a
hint of colour to the piece.
