Success with memorabilia and being an agent led to a role with Jaguar Cars.
The CEO of Jaguar UK was from Newport. Having met him in a bar Jamie looked after him in Wales whenever he came. Jaguar put Jamie in charge of the Jaguar Academy of Sport. Using his ability to select winners, in 2010 he had Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah in Jaguar cars before they won major competitions.
Soon he had 50 top sports people in Jaguars.
This brings us up to 2014 when The Celtic Manor Hotel and Golf Resort's owners's son Dylan Matthews recognised Jamie's talent for picking the right people and PR and asked him to help them raise their profile. Working with his partner Cheryl, Jamie got celebrities like Snoop Dog and the East Enders cast to The Celtic which certainly had that effect.
Jamie and Cheryl formalised their business operations by starting the Call Bruce company - an interesting and effective name for a company.
Call Bruce now works with Brands like Wembley Stadium, Body Holidays, St Lucia, Mercedes Benz, The Celtic Manor - matching brands to celebrities.
Having come up to date it's time to discuss the future with Jamie.
As a sportsperson Jamie was involved in a lot of TV and Radio ventures like Energise. He really got himself out there and although he was not the biggest and most successful athlete he was bigger than many of them commercially for example being sponsored by Yves Saint Laurent and switching on the Oxford Street Christmas lights.
He had however allowed himself over time to get behind the scenes and supporting others. He had asked himself why had he done that ??
It was time to get back out there himself as the front man.
Building on his " Searching for mum " TV appearance he could resume his corporate speaking career by really telling his story.
How a jaundiced, premature orphan baby with gastro enteritis who was adopted, a mixed raced boy in a white Welsh family became a top sportsman. How he found his birth mother only to lose her 2 years later again.
He wants to spread his inspirational message and inspire, for example school children with mental and physical growth mindset.
He wants to tell how he became a world champion by doing what had to be done. He trained on Christmas day because he knew that a 5 foot 8 inch athlete from Wales had to do something that others would not do in order to compete with and beat the tall, obviously perfectly formed Jamaicans he was running against.
How the skills that Jamie had learned could be transferred to others.
He would do this by raising his profile again via personal branding ( check out his new website ) corporate speaking, TV/Radio appearances and a global Fitness program that he calls Team Avengers.
This will incorporate Mindset, Nutrition, Education and Physical training into a comprehensive program.
Jamie is distinct in what he wants to do.
Although he is very successful as an agent to others his real passion is to get his message out there himself.
He is once again determined to succeed over all of the other people in the market.
He has new material. For example Cheryl recorded his recent presentations to schools.
