He is known in the industry as a " nice guy " and someone who can be trusted implicitly.  It must be this that allows him to be introduced to " almost anyone " by one of his friends or business contacts.

You sense that the honesty he showed in racing - by not indulging in drugs - has continued in his business career.

When he retired Jamie had no education of any note. Retirement is a challenging time for sports people - what do they do now ???

In Jamie's case he looked around at the most prominent, high profile thing going on in Wales - Welsh rugby - and looked for a role there.

In Jamie's view the Welsh Rugby calendar of the time was rubbish and he told the Chief Executive of Welsh Rugby that to his face. You should give me that job Jamie told him. On being asked what his qualifications were for the job Jamie replied   " making things work, ethics, training hard and producing the goods when required ". You can imagine the passion he poured into that pitch !!

Shocked when they actually gave him the responsibility he researched the market and brought in specialist resources. The result was record sales and the adoration of the Welsh Rugby fans. This led to him doing  the  6 Nation covers and then  moving into the me morabilia market.

Having had incredible success in his chosen post sports career he admits to having made lots of mistakes as well.

He became a sports agent after  Dolmans Solicitors asked him to help them. They had a lot of  footballers on their books but Jamie was not interested in them and wanted to focus on  rugby and  athletics only which meant a big change for Dolmans and the loss of existing clients. Dolmans took the risk just as Welsh Rugby did.

In 6 months Jamie had brought in top athletes that went on to win major World and Olympic titles - clearly Jamie had a knack for spotting winners.
