The condominium is roughly 4,000-square-feet and has four bedrooms and 4 ½ baths . Although the unit came nicely appointed and with good bones , it lacked personality . One of the first things Haya did when they moved in was contact South Beach designer Steven Zelman to make the space reflect her personality .“ I ’ m not very domestic ,” she explains . “ Steven understood what I wanted – masculine energy in a feminine way .”
Construction took approximately eight months . The family lived in the residence during that time . Working together , Haya and Zelman chose to use reclaimed wood throughout the unit to add warmth and “ wow ” factor to every room . Zelman designed the kitchen ’ s backsplash and chose the industrial light fixtures over the island .
