Can such quality journalism flourish in the laser-speed age of computer technology? Indeed, is the Internet a curse or a blessing for journalists?
The “blessing” answer, on the surface at least, seems manifest.
Just ask any veteran newspaperman who recalls the hours — and sometimes daylong wait — for the overloaded librarian to research thorny issues laden with conflicts and statistics. These days, the libraries of the world are at their fingertips and can be summoned with a few strokes and wiggles of the keyboard mouse.
