RECREATION & COMMUNITY SERVICES Outdoor Skating & Pond Usage Please note the outdoor rink at the Sports Centre will be used for skating only on Wednesday from 5:00pm-8:00pm and Saturday from 2:00pm-5:00pm. All other times are available for shinny. Those using the canals and lakes, East Trout & Kelly’s Pond, for recreational usage are encouraged to use caution as the thickness of the ice will vary. Remember only the following usages are encouraged: • • Skating (on designated areas that are cleared of snow) Ice Fishing on East Trout Lake (no ice shacks) We will be clearing the canal between Kelly’s Pond and East Trout Lake for skating. This area is located within Kinsmen Park. This surface will be maintained once there is adequate ice thickness for skaters No vehicles, snowmobiles, or all-terrain vehicles are allowed on the lakes, parks, or drainage ways within our community. Please contact the Recreation Office at 306-683-5576 to receive information on the condition of these areas. We recommend no winter usage of the lake located on Sunset Ridge due to ice strength. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ Tobogganing Hills There are three tobogganing hills located at the following three parks: North Hills/Mini-Mountain, Kinsmen Park, and Lions Park. Contact the Recreation & Community Services Department at 306-683-5575 if you wish to obtain additional information. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ Pathways/Walking Trails Residents can enjoy over 7 km’s of lit paved pathways that intertwine within the various parks, sporting facilities and linear parks. These pathways connect the community from the south to the north. Additional pathways have been constructed and paved east and south of Glenview Cove and north to 4th Street adjacent to Range Road 3053. The pathways that are located in the community will be maintained throughout Open 7 days a week the winter.
