Brad and Peri Boehm have sponsored the annual Boehm ’ s Physio Run for Your Life for the past 12 years and have done so much for cancer awareness especially for many local friends and residents . They have given back and raised close to $ 60,000 over these past 12 years . This race marked the last year that they will hold the event and it was a very successful run once again . The participants and donors raised $ 6000 this year thanks to the generosity of others . Top money maker was Neil MacMillan who raised 910.00 . This year the funds will be donated to the C95 Marathon for Breast Cancer and to the Gormley Gathering for Prostrate Cancer .
The Boehms , along with employees , have done such a wonderful job of hosting this event every year . The first run was held at Kinsmen Park twelve years ago as runners braved the rain and cold weather . It ’ s been such a success every year with the community getting behind the event with volunteers from the RCMP and fire departments helping direct traffic keeping the runners safe . Runners are given a race t-shirt and treated to a meal after they cross the finish line . “ Not only are we raising money but we are helping people in our community that have been touched by these diseases and there is not a better feeling than that . We truly appreciated all the support and donations and to see lots of the same people participating year after year . It has been a pleasure ,” Peri stated . The Boehm ’ s RFYL race is a wonderful community event that will be missed by many . A very special thanks goes out to the Boehms for their hard work and dedication to cancer awareness and for sponsoring such a worthwhile event . Thanks for giving back !

Martensville Alliance Church Fall Family Festival

Residents of Martensville were welcomed to come and check out the Martensville Alliance Church Fall Family Festival on Sunday , September 11th starting at 1:00pm and going until 4:00pm . Participants had a bit of a dreary day but were enthusiastic just the same . The afternoon included free BBQ , children ' s games , and an open house within the church with guided tours . Those attending were able to see what the Church offers for children , youth , and adults , with something for everyone .
