Welcome Back Assembly at VMS
There was a buzz of excitement last
Thursday morning as Valley Manor School
opened its doors to 799 students and 74
staff members! Students were eager to see
their classrooms, their teachers and their
friends and tell them all about their summer
vacations. We were able to pack the gym
for our welcome back assembly, where new
students, teachers and interns were welcomed.
New to VMS this year is; Amanda
Stratton – Kindergarten, Lisa Robinson-Gr. 4,
Katie Curtis-Gr. 7. Interns: Maxine Panchuk
in Gr. 1AB, Serena Reimer in Gr. 2I, Tavia
Freedman in Gr. 6G, Jessie Hoffart in Gr.
6CK, Raelyn Fee in Gr. 1K and Mackenzie
Schultz in Gr. 1AJ.
We
welcome
back:
Meg
Weippert-Kindergarten, Ali Miller-Gr. 2,
Danielle Briske-Gr. 3, and Amy Wiebe-Gr.
6.
It doesn’t take long to get things
started at VMS; students are eagerly
signing up for cross-country, volleyball,
soccer, friends of the library, and school
patrol. Our cross-country team has already
started training, our volleyball teams
have played their first games and friends
of the library have begun their training.
School patrol and soccer are quickly being
organized along with our Meet the Teacher
Morning and Terry Fox Run. The grade 4’s
have already had their Identity Day and we
expect many more to follow.
There is a great feeling in the
halls and it looks like we are off to a great
year!
Welcome Back Assembly at VHS
Well Venture Heights is back at it for another school year. Students and teachers
were excited to see each other and get started. We had our first assembly to welcome
everyone back to school and to announce some new things.
Mr. Biberdorf (principal) announced to the students that we have some new
interns/staff members, then invited them to introduce themselves. We welcome them to
Venture Heights.
Mrs. Lacoursiere (vice principal) and Mr. Robson (IA teacher) announced that
we have new lights in our gym. They do many things such as change colors and flash to
music. Mr. Robson showed the staff and students a small demonstration of what they can
do. Everyone was pumped!
VHS is excited to announce that our school will once again be participating
with “One Book, One School, One Community”. This year, families will be given the
opportunity to choose from 6 different books, all with a “Knight” theme. These books will
be available at the upcoming VHS Pancake Breakfast (September 15th).

Speak of me as you have always done.
Remember the good times, laughter, and fun.
Share the happy memories we've made.
Do not let them wither or fade.
I'll be the voice that whispers in the breeze.
I'm peaceful now, put your mind at ease.
I've rested my eyes and gone to sleep,
But memories we've shared are yours to keep.
Sometimes our final days may be a test,
But remember me when I was at my best.
Although things may not be the same,
Don't be afraid to use my name.
Missing you everyday Jenna.
Love you lots xoxo Aunty Tessa Shayne
