Greeted with Snoopy lounging on a beautiful red doghouse and welcomed by
the one and only Charlie Brown , I was fortunate to meet the sharply dressed cast of

storytelling at Venture Heights

Mr . Biberdorf ( Principal at Venture Heights ) took some time to read to Mrs . Robinson ’ s grade two class . The kids were ecstatic of his storytelling . “ The Book With No Pictures ” by B . J . Novak is a hilarious way to get kids excited about reading and having adults read to them - a great new piece of literature to read at home with your kids . Check it out !
the first ever MHS musical ; “ You ’ re a Good Man , Charlie Brown ”. The choir students welcome you to their humorous ‘ days in the life ’ of the “ peanut gang ”, whose characters were originally created by cartoonist Charles . M . Schulz . The new amphitheatre located inside of Martensville High School will be the host to this school production put on by Mrs . Beck ’ s own choir students . A diverse cast of clever individuals ranging from grades 9 to 11 made for the perfect ‘ peanut gang ’. Each member stated being both confident and nervous for their first production but excitement is apparent amongst them all . In preparation for the musical , the cast were sat to watch the screening of the show in order to get a feel for their characters and roles during their performances . With the hard work and practices dating back since last spring , this group of individuals is well prepared to put on a spectacular musical as the first MHS will see . With the help from the IA class , Theatre Arts class , choir , and of course Mrs . Beck , this musical will surely be a knockout .
Beck made for an excellent musical director as the choir ’ s own , Charlie Brown , ( Cole Zacharias ) commented , “ She teaches singing in a fun way , but she also doesn ’ t take any crap .” To which Beck replied , “ Exactly ”. With Cole Zacharias as Charlie Brown , Cassidy Funk as Lucy Van Pelt , Emma Ens as Schroeder , Noah Fehr as Snoopy , Winslorbless Lumapas as Sally Brown , and Kate Jalpert as Linus Van Pelt , the audience is sure in for a treat from this wonderful group of individuals . For those seeking an evening full of humour and talent , this MHS choir will be providing exactly that through their performances dated for the 18th and 19th of November at 7pm . Grab your own tickets at the office of MHS , $ 10.00 for adults and $ 6.00 for youth , don ’ t miss out !

Valley Manor launched its fall fundraiser to support physical activity related field trips . As a result of the limited “ in gym ” time classes have during the school year , our SCC ( for the 3rd year in a row ) has provided each classroom $ 250 to be used towards field trips that get students moving ( gymnastics , fitness classes , indoor swimming , etc .).
This year the SCC chose to sell gift cards that everybody can use on a daily basis . Every month you spend hundreds of dollars for things like food , gas , clothing , pharmacy , home renovations , etc . All you have to do is pay for some or all of your purchases using GIFT CARDS bought at face value from our students and a percentage of the money spent will come back to the school .
The campaign will run from November 4th – 23rd , so you also have an opportunity to stock up on all those gifts cards you will need for Christmas . Please ask any Valley Manor student about this great opportunity to support our school .
