The end of April marked the completion of another guiding year . Some final month activities that our units enjoyed were an Unbirthday Party , auctions , games , and outings . The 1st Martensville Brownies Un-birthday Party meant that everybody was able to have a good time playing unwrap the prize ball , eating un-birthday cupcakes , singing the unbirthday song , and having a present auction with the brownie dollars that were earned during the year . The 1st Martensville Guides had an auction , enjoyed some snacks , and played games on the front lawn at the Civic Centre . Pathfinders also wrapped up their year with some fun activities like going to the Persephone Theatre , enjoying a karaoke night , and learning self-defence . Every unit did something different and fun .
Although April was the end of our regular weekly meetings , all units have still been up to something since then . We participated in the annual community clean-up at various parks on Saturday May 7th followed by a hotdog

Girl Guide News

Submitted by Girl Guides lunch . Many thanks to Theodores Bakery for their generous donation of hotdog buns . We were able to feed all of those hungry girls and parents after their hard work . The buns were delicious ! Spring Camp is coming soon with some units heading to Redberry Bible Camp and some going to Blue Mountain Adventure Park . Preparations for camp vary from unit to unit . Brownies had Search and Rescue ’ s “ Hug a Tree ” event to teach the girls how to stay safe if they are lost in the woods . While Guides shared ideas about food to make and activities to enjoy during their tenting experience . All of us are looking forward to a weekend of fun and adventure !
During the Monster Garage Sale on May 27th and 28th , Girl Guides will be at the Civic Centre providing face painting and a bouncy castle ( by donation ) and a delicious BBQ from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday and 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday . You can also take a short walk to buy Girl Guide cookies from the 1st and 2nd Martensville Guide units

who will be at Andrea ’ s Park from 11 am to 2 pm on the 28th planting flowers , selling cookies , and playing .
Thanks to the Community of Martensville for all of your support to our units throughout the year especially with our cookie sales . The money from the sale of cookies supports our weekly unit activities and helps to lower the cost of camp so our girls can experience some great programs and outdoor activities that would otherwise be very expensive . Also , thankyou to Venture Heights elementary school for allowing some units to use space there for meetings , the library and the rink for sharing their space with other units , and the City of Martensville for working with us regarding meeting spaces and extra unit events . All of your cooperation is appreciated !
If your daughter would like to join Girl Guides next year , register on-line at register . girlguides . ca starting June 1st for new members . Registration is already open for returning girls .
