MCRP Hard at Work to Raise Money For Second Ice Surface

The Martensville Community Recreation Project ( MCRP ) had a great 2016 , and 2017 looks to be even more successful for the MCRP . Last years ’ events raised record amounts of funds going towards a second ice surface in our city . In addition to our three main events , the Casino Night , NHL Playoff Draft and 3 on 3 Fall Hockey Tournament , we have added two additional opportunities in Martensville . The first is our NHL Loser Pool . Registration was in December and the pool ran every Saturday starting in January . The Survivor style draft had the people who picked the correct losing team for Saturday ’ s game moved on to the next week . After 6 weeks the last surviving player and winner of $ 1000 was Amy Konkel .
The second event we are offering in Martensville is our Tune Up for Fall ( TUFF ) Family Fun Run . The run will be on Sunday August 27th . There is a 2km , 5km and 10km race and it is open to all ages . Go to www . mcrp . ca to register .
We have a couple team spots available for the NHL Playoff Draft which will run on April 9th . Teams consist of 8 players and the cost to enter is $ 560 / team . A supper is provided by the Sports Page . To register go to www . mcrp . ca .
Registration for the Martensville 3 on 3 Fall hockey tournament will be up in May . This is a 3 week event for players aged 7 and up . It is a great warm up to the hockey season . For information go to www . martensville3on3 . goalline . ca .
Finally our 4th annual Casino Night and Dance will be on November 4th . This past year was our biggest event to date with almost 300 people attending .
