Comedy Fans Devour 5,000 Chicken Wings During Kinsmen Fundraiser Shanine Sealey , Martensville Messenger

The Martensville & District Kinsmen Club held their second annual ‘ Chicken & Chuckles ’ event Saturday , February 25th at the North Ridge Centennial Community Centre . Many that attended the inaugural event last year purchased their tickets for this year in advance , knowing that they were in for an evening full of laughter .
Approximately 230 people attended the event , and in the end , the Kinsmen Club will be donating $ 2200 to TeleMiracle this weekend . “ I consider this to be a very successful event and expect it to grow for next year . Everyone who attended has told me that they had a fantastic time ,” Arnie Deschner of the Martensville & District Kinsmen Club stated .
This year , three comedians took the stage and had the entire audience laughing out loud with their comedic talents . The host of the evening , Darryl Koszman of Saskatoon , started things off
before introducing comedian Joel Jeffries of Saskatoon . The feature act , Kelly Taylor of Prince Albert , ended the evening with a bang , adding in some hilarious banter with the audience .
Following the comedy , Deschner announced the winner of the 50 / 50 draw , Rachel Cocks , who donated $ 200 of her winnings back to TeleMiracle .
Continuing the fun filled evening , Jason White of Martensville donated his time to DJ , and it didn ’ t take long to see the dance floor filling up .
The Kinsmen Club are now focusing on TeleMiracle , with the Martensville group providing all of the transportation services for the event . “ We transport all of the stars , crew and Kin volunteers back and forth from their hotels to the event centre ,” Deschner added . The local Kinsmen also do all of the donated food pick-ups and deliver back to the event centre to feed all of the volunteers .
