THIS WEEK IN SPORTS

The Penguins jumped out to an early 2-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Finals . This series has been just about as close as it gets in the playoffs with all three games being decided by only one goal . Pittsburgh took the first game 3-2 with the game winner coming off the stick of Nick Bonino with just 2:33 remaining in the third period . In game two it took extra time for the Sharks to be defeated . Conor Sheary netted the game winner only 2:37 into the first overtime period to take the 2-1 victory . The Sharks went back home to San Jose for game three where they were able to get their first Stanley Cup Final victory in franchise history . Right Winger Joonas Donskoi scored at the 12:18 mark of over time to cut the Pens lead in half and now sit at 2-1 in the series . San Jose looks to tie the series at 2-2 on Monday while Pittsburgh tries to take a 3-1 stranglehold on the series .
The Golden State warriors are back to their old selves again and are up 2-0 in the NBA Finals . The Cavs have been totally outplayed and have lost big in both games . Cleveland has one of the worst records in the finals out of all the current NBA teams . The Cavs are a lowly 2-10 as a franchise in the big series . Hopefully for Cleveland fans the Cavs can keep their undefeated at home streak these playoffs when they head back home on Wednesday to try to cut the Warriors lead in half .
Blue Jays pitcher Marco Estrada has come very close to no-hitters in his career including taking no-no ’ s into the 8th inning twice last June . This week on Sunday June 5 , 2016 Estrada came oh so close again , not giving up a hit until finally surrendering a home run to Chris Young with two outs . He would finish the inning and then give way to the closer Roberto Osuna who almost blew the save . He did keep the save as the Jays won 5-4 . The Blue Jays starting pitching is some of the best in the majors with Estrada leading the way with just opponents hitting just . 167 against him . Toronto sits third in the American League East with a 31- 27 record and a . 534 win percentage .
