The Martensville Tim Hortons participated in Camp Day on June 1st . Camp Day is held the first Wednesday in June each year and is the biggest fundraiser the massive franchise holds throughout the year . Restaurants donate 100 % of their coffee proceeds from the day , as well as any other additional donations raised through a variety of different ways . The Martensville restaurant managed to raise a total of

$ 5200 throughout the day . Camille Barzeele , owner of the Martensville Tim Hortons , said “ We want to extend a big thank you to the community of Martensville for their generosity when supporting Camp Day ,”

The Martensville Fire Department was quickly on scene Saturday , June 4 after receiving a call regarding a car fire . Smoke could be seen billowing out from under the hood of the car fire , located on 1st Street South . Upon arriving , the MFD had

the situation under control within a short time and the vehicle was towed away . The fire did not appear to be suspicious in nature .

Spruce Manor hosted its second annual car show Monday , June 6th . In this second year more people came out to exhibit their extraordinary vehicles . Both classic and newer cars were on hand .

The night had a few special touches in the form of homemade pies on hand for sale . A quilt made by local women was being raffled off , and a BBQ also took place .

Beverly Evin who is the manager of Spruce Manor said , “ Spruce Manor is fundraising to enhance the care of our people . There are a number of things that our funding doesn ’ t cover . We are fundraising , not only for things that will improve quality of life , but for necessities . We have 37 residents and 14 assisted living suites .”

Beverly commented , “ We have huge support from our surrounding communities in Dalmeny , Langham , Warman , and Martensville . I ’ m so impressed .”
