LOCALLY OWNED AND OPERATED FOR 20 YEARS!
Farmer’s Market Hosts Vendors of All Ages
Marcy Cross,
Martensville Messenger
Carrie Hingston who is 9
years old, has been making
crafts for the past two
years and selling them at
the Martensville Farmer’s
Market. When perusing
the many options available
at the Farmer’s Market, it
is hard to miss Hingston’s
brightly coloured crafts, and
her large array of products.
When creating her designs,
the young entrepreneur
uses whatever materials
and colours come to hand in
order to make her beautiful
masterpieces. When asked
what her favorite item to
make is, Hingston quickly
replied that she enjoys
making the sprays. “I have
a dream spray that helps
calm you in your sleep,
and then there is a calming
spray, which is like a fairy
spray and they help calm
people during the day,”
Hingston stated.
Among the many amazing
things
that
Hingston
brings to the Martensville
Farmer’s
Market
is
homemade
lemonade,
magic wands, bracelets,
lavender satchels, pixie
dust, bath salts and bath
bombs, and one of young
Hingston’s
favorites,
her hairclips. “I like the
hairclips because they
look sunny,” Hingston
commented.
Profits that Hingston
makes from her sales have
been going straight into
her “sharing” piggy bank
rather than her “spending”
piggy bank. Her mother
Shauna was curious what
her daughter had planned
on doing, and after asking
her, was quite impressed
with the answer. “Carrie
plans on doing a fundraiser
for the Ronald McDonald
House in Saskatoon, and
will be donating all of her
money to that,” Shauna
explained.

Martensville Farmer’s Market
Offers Something New Each Week
Marcy Cross,
Martensville Messenger
The
Martensville
Farmer’s Market has
been up and running at
the Martensville Curling
Rink since June 21st,
and will continue to
run each Tuesday from
10am-2pm until August
30th. On Tuesday, July
26th, a steady stream of
people made their way
through the large side
door into the curling
rink and perused the
many items available.
Many stopped to watch
the
talented
Cruz
perform his magic
tricks for tips, as well
as the group from Bravo
Dance Co., who were
busy behind the booths
entertaining the young
children, and showing
them some moves.
Overall the market is
growing from week to
week, and comments the
vendors are hearing have
been really positive. The
Martensville
Farmer’s
Market will be holding an
evening sale soon, to better
accommodate those that are
unable to make it during
the day. Visit them on
Facebook to find out more.
