FunFest Lives Up to Its Name Ciara O ’ Reilly , Martensville Messenger
Winter FunFest made its 15th annual debut this past Saturday , February 4th at the Northridge Centennial Community Centre in support of KidSport . “ We raised $ 1472.65 for KidSport . People were very generous and we would like to thank everyone who attended and donated !” says special events director , Joanna Zalesiak .
North Ridge Centennial Community Centre hosted a multitude of fun activities for families in Martensville . FunFest offered the many favourites such as sleigh rides , face painting , hotdog roasting , bouncers , and even had special guest appearances from Olaf , Elsa , Spiderman and Kenni the Clown ! There was a great deal of additional activities offered including the newly introduced Break- Out Escape Room , which held a steady line-up all day long . The atmosphere was jubilant as laughter and smiles lit up the faces of young , and in turn the faces of not-as-young .
The festivities came to a close with the help of the Martensville Fire Department ( MFD ) as the Christmas tree bonfire commenced and fireworks lit up the February sky . Zalesiak predicts that the turn out for next years ’ festivities will be even better . “ Each year it seems we are getting busier and busier ,” says Zalesiak . “ For future years , we will try to improve our outdoor activities to bring more people outside to get engaged in winter fun !”
