Martensville ’ s 6th Annual Community Expo Gears up for March Ciara O ’ Reilly , Martensville Messenger
Martensville ’ s Community Expo is in the works again , and set to kick off just next month on March 31st and April 1st . For those of you that don ’ t know , the Expo is an event held each year with one common goal , to promote and support local businesses . This will be the 6th Annual Community Expo brought to the city on behalf of the City of Martensville , Martensville Chamber of Commerce and commonly supported by Wow Factor Design Inc . as well as local volunteers . The expo will be hosted on both the upper and lower levels of Martensville ’ s Athletic Pavilion ( MAP ), where exhibitors will set up their booths and numerous activities will be held . “ The previous shows were once held at the Martensville Curling Rink but moving it to the MAP last year made the event bigger , more welcoming to patrons and created a great dynamic ,” mentioned City of Martensville Community / Economic Development Manager , Dillon Shewchuk . The activities the event has to offer includes a ton of door prizes , a grand prize trip sponsored in part by Gateway Travel , Expo Bingo , silent auction items to bid on , balloon animals , a pancake breakfast , princess visits , 50 / 50s and draws at booths , C95 mad money machine , games , inflatable houses for the kids , music , great food , and so much more . This isn ’ t even including the long line of fabulous local home-based and retail businesses to check out ! There is truly something for everyone on this occasion .

Each and every year , the numbers of the exhibitors has grown and Martensville ’ s business industry is constantly bringing more to the table . Just last year the expo hit a new peak in attendees , raking in over 1,000 people over the two days , and this number doesn ’ t include children at ages twelve and under . Tables are already being booked fast for this year ’ s event . “ We are currently more than 50 % sold out of tables and booths so register your business online today ! Home-based business tables are only $ 75 ,” informed Anne-Marie Cey of Wow Factor Event Design Inc . There were over 106 booths and tables last year , and the 2017 year is expected to be even more successful as there is more space which means more draws , more booths and more giveaways ! “ It ’ s a great way to gather our community together to enjoy food , fun and friendship in the spring ! It ’ s such a nice way to say farewell to winter hibernation ,” said Cey . Just last year Martensville winner Marlene Wood took home the Grand Prize Trip to Las Vegas ($ 1500 value via Gateway Travel ); this year it could be you !

Second Annual Business Excellence Awards to be Held in Martensville

The Warman and Martensville Chambers of Commerce have been busy planning the second annual Warman Martensville Business Excellence Awards ( WMBEXA ), which will be taking place May 5th at the North Ridge Centennial Community Centre in Martensville . These awards are an opportunity to highlight local businesses , similar to events such as the Saskatoon Achievement in Business Excellence ( SABEX ) Awards or the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce Achievement in Business Excellence ( ABEX ) Awards .
WMBEXA consists of five categories ; Business of the Year , New Business , Marketing , Customer Service and Community Involvement . On March 15th , the five finalists for each of the five categories will be announced in a very new and exciting way . “ New for this year is the LIVE announcement of finalists . We are honored to have our presenting sponsor , Affinity Credit Union , reveal the finalists in each of the five categories LIVE on March 15 , 2017 at 9am !
