On December 14, 2016 at approximately 1:15 p.m. the Martensville/Warman RCMP
executed a Search Warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence in
Martensville with the assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Services.
As a result of that search warrant, a 19-year-old Martensville man, Lane Daniel Gruber,
has been charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:
Production of Marihuana, Possession of Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession
of LSD (Acid).
“During the course of another investigation, Martensville RCMP became aware of the
criminal activities of the accused and as a result, sought a warrant to search his residence and
seize certain things that would afford evidence of these criminal activities. As a result of the
evidence gathered through the execution of the search warrant, the above noted charges were
laid,” Martensville RCMP Sergeant Chris Cisecki explained.
Gruber is currently set to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court at 2pm on January 31,
2017. “The kind of punishment received for the charges is in the hands of the court system.
Punishment can range from fines, probation, community service, treatment programs, jail or a
variety of other discharges or a combination thereof,” Cisecki added.

Bowkowy Leads United Youth to
Christmas Party
Ciara O’Reilly, Martensville Messenger
The Bowkowy residence was full of holiday bustle on Friday the 16th and Sunday
the 18th of December. The elves of the United Youth Christmas Campaign (UYCC) wrapped
presents aplenty and put together care packages for needing families to be distributed on the day
of the Epic Christmas Party, which will be held on December 24th. "Over two days we wrapped
500 gifts and 500 care packages for the party," informed Bowkowy.
Prior to the date of the party, Bowkowy will resume recruitment from fellow youth,
as she and Corey O’Soup, Saskatchewan’s Youth Advocate, will be talking to three schools:
Princess Alexandra Community School, King George Community School, and Pleasant Hill
School. A visit with Venture Heights Elementary School will also be taking place on Wednesday,
December 21st as the grade seven classes will be presenting the campaign with a donation of a
whopping $574 raised through a school bake sale. Well done Venture Heights!
The youth involved in this campaign have dedicated so much time and effort into
the needing youth and families in our area, and it really shows! The campaign has collected
on estimate a whopping 800 gifts for the youth and 600 family care packages. MLA David
Buckingham and Public School Board Trustee Cameron Scott will also be helping out at the Epic
Christmas Party on the 24th and lending a hand talking to the schools on the 21st. Saskatchewan
Deputy Premier Don Morgan will also be attending the Epic Christmas Party.
