Another great week in the CFL is in the books and a decent week for my picks ! I went 2-2 this week which is not too shabby . I took a chance on the Roughriders and was deeply disappointed as they got absolutely destroyed by the Montreal Alouettes 41-3 on Friday . The defence just wasn ’ t there for the Riders and it just happened to be on a day that the offence also wasn ’ t connecting scoring just one field goal in the third quarter . That made me 0-2 after the first two games of the week with the Eskimos losing to the Bombers on Thursday in Edmonton . The green and gold got off to a slow start giving up 11 points in the first quarter and just couldn ’ t cut down the deficit losing by a score of 30-23 . After Saskatchewan got thumped on Friday in the first game of a doubleheader , Calgary and BC gave the CFL some excitement . BC jumped out to an early lead on Chris Rainey ’ s 95-yard punt return TD in the first quarter and in the first half Calgary came back from 17-3 to make it 17-16 at the half . Then BC stepped on the gas pedal again and put up 17 points in the third increasing their lead to 34-19 going into the final quarter . Then it was Calgary ’ s turn , the stamps poured it on scoring 8 points in the first 5 minutes . But when Lion ’ s QB Jonathon Jennings competed his third touchdown pass of the game with just 4:33 remaining in

THIS WEEK IN SPORTS

the game Stamps fans started leaving McMahon stadium . Oh boy were those fans sorry they did . Calgary scored quickly , cutting the lead to just 8 points with 2:11 left , and then BC threw up their first interception of the game and Calgary ’ s Ciante Evans returned it to the Lion ’ s 32- yard line . With just a minute and six seconds remaining , Bo Levi Mitchell threw for his third TD of the game and then followed it up with a completion for the 2-point conversion to tie the game at 41 and send it into overtime . The Stamps managed just a field goal . When BC was in the “ Red Zone ” Jonathon Jennings threw another interception and finalizing the score at 44-41 and putting Calgary into first place in the west .
On Sunday the Toronto Argonauts evened my record at . 500 with a 23-20 victory over the RedBlacks . Ottawa has struggled after losing their second string quarterback last week against Saskatchewan and have lost their last two games . The RedBlacks are now second in the East and Toronto has taken over top spot with a record of 4-2 . With my picks for week 7 I am taking the Ti-Cats , Stampeders , Lions , and RedBlacks .
