sgi issues 74 tickets to new Drivers

June ’ s province-wide traffic safety spotlight saw law enforcement issue 74 tickets to new drivers and new motorcycle riders not following the restrictions outlined on their learner or novice licence , including :
• 51 tickets for driving as a learner without a supervising driver
• 21 tickets for failing to comply with a licence endorsement or restriction
• 1 ticket for exceeding zero tolerance for alcohol or drug use
• 1 ticket for failing to display the proper learner or novice placards on a motorcycle
Law enforcement throughout the province also issued an additional 5,240 * traffic violations to other road users throughout June , including 3,985 speeding / aggressive driving offences , 254 impaired driving-related offences , 302 distracted driving offences ( 192 of those for cellphone use ) and 407 seatbelt / car seat / booster seat violations .
steP results Police from all over the province joined forces in Prince Albert on June 21 and 22 for a two-day Enforcement Program Selective Traffic ( STEP ) event . All traffic safety violations were enforced with a special focus on impaired driving , distracted driving ( cellphones ), speeding / aggressive driving and seatbelts / child seats . Law enforcement issued 302 tickets during the two-day blitz , including :
• 91 tickets for speeding / aggressive driving
• 23 tickets for cellphone use while driving
• 1 tickets for failing to stop for red light / stop sign
• 28 tickets related to light vehicle safety
• 106 tickets related to commercial vehicles
• 53 other traffic offences
SGI-certified car seat technicians also participated in the STEP event to help ensure and promote child passenger safety . They checked 182 child seats and seatbelts during the check stops and gave away nine car seats and 15 booster seats to encourage child restraint use .
With construction season in full swing , motorists are reminded to # SlowDown as police continue to focus on aggressive driving in work zones throughout the month of July .

OK Corral Hosts 4th annual martensville rodeo

Marcy Cross , Martensville Messenger The OK Corral , located four miles north of Martensville and one mile east on Powerline Road , hosted the seventh annual Martensville KCRA rodeo this past weekend . The three day event ran from Friday , July 29 to Sunday , July 31 and participants came from far and wide to participate in the numerous events . Leanne Kolbe has always been an active person , but made a change to her fitness routine around her 40th birthday . Buying a gym membership at Wrench Fitness allowed Kolbe to discover her passion for training , lifting weights and inspiring others .
Kolbe made it her goal to one day compete in a fitness competition , and achieved that goal in 2014 by taking the stage for the first time at the Saskatchewan Amateur Body Building Association ( SABBA ) Novice show . Placing first in her category of Master Bikini , Kolbe qualified to attend the IFBB Gym Star Provincial Championships , again taking first in Master ’ s Bikini . Kolbe competed again at the Provincial level in 2015 placing first in Master Bikini and second in Bikini Tall , qualifying her for Nationals .
Alongside prepping for the stage , Kolbe has pursued her certification as a fitness trainer through the International Sports Science Association . leanne Kolbe means Business

training business : Team Iron Elles Personal Training . “ Team Iron Elles ” operates out of Wrench Fitness . “ I train those wanting to lose weight , compete , or just improve their health and fitness . Anyone who trains under the Iron Elles name , becomes part of the team !” commented Kolbe .
All the hard work of training has paid off for Kolbe , as she made her way to the CBBF Canadian Nationals in July of 2016 . Competing at the provincial level and winning Master ’ s Bikini in 2014 and 2015 allowed her to qualify for Canadian Nationals . Kolbe placed top ten in Bikini Class F and 6th in Master Bikini .
Future plans for Kolbe include potentially competing in another national event this September in Edmonton : the Ben Weider Pro Qualifier , an event she has qualified for . While Kolbe maintains a full time day job , she has also started her own personal
