SNAP-Ed Program assistant Karen Jones teaches Kids-A-Cookin' Afterschool as participants learn how to read nutrition labels. During the once monthly session, students from grades 2-5 gather for an hour and a half lesson on nutrition, food safety, and the art of cooking. Youth attending the February session identified the health differences between peaches in heavy syrup versus the same product sold in fruit juice.

Extension has been hosting a four series program called BRAINY BABIES, which is an interactive program for children birth - age 3. Through playful learning activities, each child and adult will grow and learn together. The interactive series encourages and stimulates learning while enhancing the relationship between adult and child.
