BRINGING INTO FOCUS FILIPINO PRESENCE IN AUSTRALIA www.kalatas.com.au | Volume 5 Number 5 | February 2015 'WAIT FOR IT' Young talents in theatre concert New and young FilipinoAustralian performers showed their talents in a unique theatre concert held last month at the Rooty Hill RSL. The ‘Wait for It’ musical by Filoz-Art Youth was successfully staged as a coming out finale to a theatre workshop conducted by the Filoz-Art recently. The workshop was designed to help participants to develop their skills and talents and enable them to perform before an audience. The show, under the direction of musical director Rie Manaloto, focused on stories of the youth --what they see, what they feel; their concerns, their worldview, and how their lives are connected and affected by society. Creative and artistic director was Geraldine Cruz-Dimaano with Ferdie Dimaano as drama and video production director. The group is composed of 12 youth, ages 13 to 26yrs old, and a combination of seasoned performers in singing and theatre and new talents - all sharing the passion and love of performing arts.
