Marcella Nardi is the image of a modern day Renaissance woman. Marcella worked for IBM Italy, then for another computer company before moving to the United States a little more than five years ago. Marcella teaches languages – English to Italian speakers and Italian for Americans who are relocating to Italy for business – mostly by Skype and webcam, as well as arts and crafts, through her company, Marcella's Art & Crafts.

Having spent her professional career in computer science, coming to the U.S., she decided to concentrate on things she loves. “I have a lot of hobbies,” she said, including photography, travels, home décor and building miniatures. In 2009, her miniature work was recognized with a prize at a Woodinville, Washington arts and crafts competition in the 3D Artwork category.

After years pursuing professional interests, Marcella returned to writing, inspired by the history that surrounded her as a child. “I am, most of all, an artist and a writer, in my mind,”

Marcella said. “The village where I was born, is the medieval Italian "borgo" of Castelfranco Veneto, not far from the ‘magic’ town of Venezia (Venice).”

Her ongoing love affair with ancient and medieval history of her native land turned into a successful avocation as an author. In 2011, Marcella’s medieval mystery story, "Everyone Dreams, Without Exception," won third place in the annual contest sponsored by the "Associazione Culturale Italia Medievale" (the Italian Medieval Cultural Association). She collected four of her historical mysteries into a book, titled “Medieval in Writing” and later added a second, “Medieval in Yellow.” Her short stories have appeared in a number of Italian anthologies, including “365 Short Stories for Under the Beach Umbrella,” as well.
