The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is the licensing and regulatory body governing the practice of medicine in Ontario. The College is responsible for setting and maintaining medical standards, licensing physicians, investigating complaints about physicians on behalf of the public, and disciplining doctors found to have committed act(s) of professional misconduct. Features 9 Continuity of Care Conversation – What Do You Think? The College is holding a conversation about continuity of care. Specifically, we want to know what steps can be taken that would allow physicians to work in a more coordinated fashion; one that would better ensure the safety of patients as they navigate through a complex system. 19 Expectations of Professional Behaviour Unprofessional behaviour not only unsettles and rattles co-workers, but it can also jeopardize the safety of patients. For that reason, the College has approved an updated policy that states physicians are expected to act in a respectful, courteous and civil manner towards their patients, colleagues, and others involved in the provision of health care. The policy is attached at page 21. 21 Opioid Guidelines Urge Caution Dialogue is published 4 times a year. The subscription rate is included in the annual membership fee and is $36.00.
