Introducing : Mullen By Heather Paige
Andrew Mullen is an incredibly talented , up-and-coming artist from Australia whose debut album , intox , is set for release this year . I had the chance to catch up with Andrew , and I found him to be as open and honest as his lyrics . Represented by Beau Fitts and Crownn Records , fiery , genuine , and hard-hitting , Andrew is not one to shy away from the darker side of human nature . Instead , he seems to embrace it . To illuminate it . To bring it out from the shadows and into the light .
Who are the members of the band ( is it just you ), and what instruments do you play ?
If I were to try and describe Mullen as a solitary wolf exploring the prairies in search of enlightenment , I ’ d be lying to you . Yes , I am Mullen and I write the songs and play most of the instruments , but there are more people involved that are part of my extended family . On my debut album I play almost all of the guitars and bass . David Carr who is my very talented producer played the remaining guitar and bass parts and Leigh Thompson plays drums . Oh , and I do all the singing and if you can pick the one bit of keyboards on the album , that was me sneaking some organy sounds on there ! When I perform live I have a group of great musicians that I trust completely .
